The Copyright Bill, which has been introduced in the Senate, repeals the existing legislation and makes the British" 1908 Act applicable to’ Australia. . It further provides that copies made outside Australia of work which if made in Australia would infringe the law of copyright, shall, if the, owner desires, be treated as prohibited from import. . The Bill also provides for reciprocal copyright with other dominions which have not adopted the British Act. _ The penalties are increased to £SO for each copy of the work infringed. The term “book” includes every part of a book, pamphlet, sheet of letterpress, map, plan, or chart.
