A pleasant- ceremony took place at the AYaercnga-a-hika School on Tuesday last, when the members of the school committee and parents met to say farewell to Aliss Alever, the Mistress of the school. .The chairman referred to the very excellent work that Miss Aleyev had done during her two years’ service, and said that the regret at her departure was unanimous. He had pleasure in presenting her with a testimonial from the committee and parents, and also a lady’s dressing case. Rev. E. Ward, in replying on behalf of Miss Meyer, said that she wished him to express her thanks for the gift and the testimonial, and to say that she had very much enjoyed her work in Waerenga-a-hika, and that her relations with both tlie parents and the school committee had been of the happiest nature.
