THE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
REPORT OF ORDINARY MEETING. The Borough Council met as reported in yesterday’s issue, on Tuesday evening. Present: The Mayor, | Os. Wade. Hepburn. Brown, Collins, 1 Webb, Smith. Wildish and Bright. ‘ As the result of a letter from Mr. J.-Francis, Harris Street, it was decided to serve a notice on the ratepayers in this locality to discontinue* j the practice of draining into the
| creek. ’ I Air. David Morice, agent for tnc London and Lancashire Insurance Co., quoted 17s 2d per cent, for cars and other content,- of tram shed. It was decided that tenders lie called for the insurance.
The Sanitary Inspector reported that Mr. Petchell had decided to forego the rest <->f 'Mm ages to his property caused through a gate being left open, if the emni ■ -e " ou!d uav solicitor’s fee. ■ Messrs J. R. Redstone and Co. ! wrote that thov were calling tenders for the work of concreting their stabJes. —R ecei ved -
On the request of Mi’s Alice McKay, if was d'-Md-e'! to ask the District Health 'Officer to withhold a condomnation certificate in the meantime.
The Engineer reported that in regard to a rt'mplaint regarding damage .to Mr. J. R. Shaw’- property on account of formation of footpath, that it was his inten+ic'U to arrange for this stormwater when the e.ulvot at the' i unction of do Lautour and Wainui Road was constructed. The Council decided to instruct the Engineer to have the work carried out at once.
