ARGENTINE PRODUCE
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, August 7The Department of Agriculture and Commerce has received the following cablegram from Buenos Aires under date August 0: “The following shipments of produce were despatched from the Argentine to the United Kingdom July: Frozen beef (quarters).—l9l2, 192,000; 1911, 141,000. •Chilled beef (quarters). —220, <-00; 215,000. Frozen mutton (carcases). —228,000 ; 210,000. Frozen lamb (carcases). —59,000 ; 89,000. FAT SHEEP AT £B. A NEW AUSTRALASIAN RECORD. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 7. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.J • A now Australasian record for the price of fat sheep was made at the Addington saleyards to-day. Mr F. Bull’s Romney Marsh Shropshire wethers, selling at £4 up to £B, and Shropshire wethers up to £4 12s 6cl. Tire previous record was held by Air Bull, his Shropshire wethers last year selling up to £3 17s 6d. SYDNEY HORSE SALES. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHTj (.Received Aug. 7, 9.30 ji.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 7. At the horse sales several lots of Clydesdales on behalf of New Zealand breeders ranged from 40 to 105 guineas, the latter figure being paid for Mr. McGaffiii’s stallion Pride of the Valley. Mr. Mitchell’s stallion, Craig Atlioi brought 150- guineas; Air. Wilson’s mare, Pride, 120 guineas: and Mr. Tastie’s Milton Lass, 155 guineas.
