The correspondents of the “Montreal Gazette” and “Toronto Globe,” who are with Mr Borden (Premier) in England, state that Mr Churchill (First Lord of the Admiralty) will visit Canada in September with a battleship and an imposing squadron under Prince Louis of Battenburg. It is understood that Air Borden will ask Sir Wilfred Laurier (Leader of the Opposition) to confer with Mr Churchill on a permanent naval policy and that Mr Borden proposes a roundtable conference of the Canadian parties.
There is some opposition among the British Alinisters as to Air Churchill’s visit, said to be due to their unwillingness to influence Canadian opinion.
