Several shipmasters' interviewed at Auckland yesterday ridiculed the Minister for Marine’s suggestion to put a lightship at the Three Kings.- Nothing would do that dangerous vicinity but an un-to-date lighthouse. A Big Tow. The feat of towing the 32,000-ton Dreadnought dock from the Tyne to the Medway has been successfully accomplished, and tlie Medway will rank in future as a repairing base for the biggest super-Dreadnoughts in Flie Navy. Four pawerful tugs towed the dock the 285 miles at a steady speed of just over three miles an hour. It was a tedious operation, to pilot it safely through the winding channel which crosses the harbor bar, but almost imperceptibly the dock moved up to its berth in Saltpan Reach, close to Port Victoria, where it was securely moored.
