ROYAL COMMISSION'S PROCEEDINGS.

Before. the Royal Commission appointed as a result of the speech of M r Parkes and Mr Henley in the A- - scmhly to inquire as to whether the Minister for Works, is guilty of cot - rapt- practices in connection with retain public works, Mr Henley's counsel asked for aip enlargement of the Commission to admit the question as to whether the Minister is guilty rf maladministration. The Commissioner said he would limit the inquiry to the charge <4 ! corrupt practices. He had. nothing to do with questions of administration. Counsel thereupon intimated that, he would tender no evidence if the inquiry were limited to corrupt practices.
Mr Parkes wrote that he was willing to appear when called.
