He has proved himself to be a splendid hack and harness horse. ~ Almont, the sire of Mousetrap, was sold at the late Henry Mace’s dispersal sale to Messrs Barber and of Melbourne, for 640 g.uineas. Almont holds the threemile world’s record of 6mm 50sec, and has taken many prizes in the show ring, including champion at the Sydney Show. One of his sons recently brought 600 guineas in Melbourne.
