CHINESE IN DIFFICULTIES.
GAMBLING DEN UPSET. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] GREYMOUTH, Aug- 26. As the result of a raid on Chinese quarters on 19th inst., 35 Chinese and two Europeans appeared beforo the Court to-day. Quong Bung, the occupier of the House, was fined £25 for keeping a common gaming house. Notice of appeal was given. Kip Duck, convicted of a similar offence, was fined £4O. The cases against one European ana four Chinese were dismissed. The remainder were fined £2 each.
