NAPIER HARBOR PROPOSALS.

STI El, ANOTHER REPORT WANTI'. I). By Telegraph—Special Correspondent NAIMER. Sept. 10. The Harlior Board met to-day to consider the Harbor report. The chairman made a statement dealing chiefly with points on which further information was required, and it was resolved to go into committee to further consider those other points and. to report to a meeting to he held next Tuesday, when the Board will probably ask tlu* engineers to make another report. During the past 30 years over a dozen reoprts have been obtained, and not one has been accepted. It is quite possible that when the Board decides to go to the ratepayers for a loan it will ho turned down by the country people, who are said to he against the expenditure of any money on either proposal, broakwatei or inner harbor. The last, poll for the loan ot 1300,000 for the breakwater was just missed |>v 50 votes short of three-fifths.
