NOTES. The scow Echo left port lasi evening. Alessrs' Jtichardson and Co’s Fanny arrived from the North last evening. To-morrow's steamer from the south will be the Union Co’s Monowai. which will be tendered at (i a.m. and 10 a.in. The Hud dart Parker Co's steamer Wimmera is due to-morrow from Auckland. She will be tendered at 11 a.m. The (Government training shin Amokura is under repair at Wellington, and the boys, numbering 55. have returned to their homes for six weeks’ holiday. The repairs include a new boat deck, the renewal of the top and part of the sides of the boiler casing, and sundry other work. The successful tenderers were Luke and Co., £1.175. Tenders were received also as follow : —llobortsou and Co.. £1.225; Cable and Co.. £1,205: Crabtree and Sons. £1.21)1. S\ ork was started on Wednesday, and the job is to be completed in six weeks.
