GOVERNMENT METEOROLOGIST’S REPORT*
[PEft PEESS ASSOCIATION.'!
Present indications arc for high westerly winds veering to a southerly gale. The barometer will probably fall lower in the North, but will rise shortly in the South and everywhere alter about 20 hours. Rain is probable generally and some snow on the higher levels in the South with colder weather following. A bricl improvement is possible in the meantime in some parts of the country, but the immediate prospects are iar from promising.
