CONTROL OF THE NORTHERN UNION GAME.
N.Z. COUNCIL AND N.S.4V. LEAGUE.
AUCKLAND, Sept. 22. In tho course of an explanation of tho recent friction with tho New Zealand League and criticisms which have appeared, Mr Miller, on behalf of himself and his co-manager (Mr Blue) said tho statement inferring failure on tho part of tho New South Wales team to adhere to its financial agreement- concerning tho tour was absolutely contrary to fact. After referring to the attitude regarding money matters of the Now Zealand team in Australia, Air Miller said: “It appears to be a case of grab, grab, grab with the New Zealand Council, and I hope in the interests of’ a good game that it will not- continue. Other centres of tho Dominion do not appear .satisfied with the way matters are being carried on at the headquarters of the League.” Mr Miller also said that he did not make tho statements with any feeling of antagonism, but simply to clear up any misapprehensions with regard to the conduct of the tour so far as their League was concerned.
