The Union S.S. Coy’s Haupiri arrived from Auckland via Coast ports vesterdav and was to leave lor Greymouth direct early this morning. Reference to to-day’s passenger steamers from North and South will le found on page 5. , The auxiliary schooner r l e Aroha lett for Napier yesterday. Some time 10-day. or early to-morrow, the ’Westport Coal Company’s Res ulus is due at Gisborne. The Koutunui is due from Auckland about Monday next. The Federal and Shire chartered steamer Kaipura is due in W idling ton on the 30th September from London. She is bringing a very large cargo oi 11.000 tons for various New Zealand ports. Advice to hand states that the New Zealand Shipping Company’s Tongariro left Cape Town in continuation of her journey from London to Wellington, on Sunday last. She is due at Wellington about October 8. At Devonnort dockyard some interesting obsolete war vessels have just been disposed of at auction by Messrs Fuller, Morre.v, Sons, and Cassell. The most notable vessel sold was the battleship Nile, which realised £34,900. Other craft disposed of (and the respective prices realised) wore Destroyer Dragon £1830; destroyer Teazer, £1820: destroyer Hasty, £1660: and the yacht Undine, £1530. The battleship has to bo broken up within a year in the United Kingdom, and the three- destroyers within six months. With regard to the •Undine, no restrictions were imposed.
