COMPENSATION FOR ACCIDENTS.
RECIPROCAL ARRANGEMENT WITH N.S.W. By Telegraph—Special Correspondent. WELLINGTON. Sept. 26. The Prime Minister to-day received a Utter from the Hon. J. McGowan (Prime Minister of New South M ales) in reply to a letter in which Air Massey had suggested a reciprocal arrangement between New Zealand and New South Wales in regard to the domicile provision in the workers’ compensation Act of the two countries. Mr McGowan agrees to the proposals advanced by the New' Zealand Prime Minister and states that legislative proposals will be introduced in the New South Wales Parliament to make the administration of compensation to workers reciprocal as between New Zealand and New South Wales. The existing Workers Compensation Act in this country gives the Government power to enter into an agreement of the character indicated. The effect of the agreement will he that when a worker is injured or killed in New Zealand his dependents will be entitled to compensation, although they are domiciled in New South Wales. Similarly the dependents of a worker injured or killed in New South Wales will be entitled to compensation, though they are domiciled in New Zealand.
