STAR, OF NEW ZEALAND REFLOATED.
[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT] (Received Sept. 29, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 29. The Star of New Zealand has been refloated. There is considerable leakage in No. 1 hold. Reinsurance on the steamer Harian, which went ashore in an exposed position at Katakolo, Greece, when bound from Hamburg to Sydney, has been effected at 10 guineas. Though she is bumping badly, she will probably be refloated after the discharge of cargo. LATER NEWS. (Received Sept. 30, 12.55 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 29. The Hainan has been refloated, apparently undamaged. The Star of New Zealand is 'satisfactorily discharging meat from the forward holds, and is being patched up, preparatory to towing to Liverpool. [Messrs Gollan and Company Proprietary have received further information from their London office this morning that the steamer Ha nan’s cargo is being got out as rapidly as possible, and is not expected to bo damaged.] WHAKATANE AGROUND. ADELAIDE, Sept. 28. The steamer Whakatane, in. attempting to avoid a collision with a collier, grounded in the channel at Port Pirie. Attempts to tow her off were futile.
