AVAINGAKE CLUB
(From Our Own Correspondent.] MANUTUKE, Sept. 28. The opening match in connection with the Waingake Club was held this afternoon, when a very good game resulted between teams selected by the Captain, Mr F Griffith, and the vieeGaptain, Mr M. O’Connor. The game ended in favor of the captain’s side bv 22 ruins. Messrs F. Griffiths, G. Coop, and M. O’Connor showed good form with the bat, whilst Messrs Griffith, W. Daulton, Parkinson and O’Connor were the most successful bowlers. Afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames Mitchell, Griffith, O’Connor, Wykes and Pyke. At the annual meeting of the Club the following officers were elected : —President, Mr C. •T. Parker; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Sisterson, F. Mitchell and H. White; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr Ec-cles; captain, Mr F. Griffith; ricccaptain, Mr M. O’Connor. The annual match with the Gisborne representatives wil Itake place on October 26.
