To-dayflrho barometer has risen in the Southland fallen in the North, and the jjjrnnds have been variable. The indications are for stormy wjßtlier shortly, especially on the \ West Coast s.outlhward of Kowhai and Wver the South Island; northerly winds increasing strong to gale; warm and humid conditions with rain following. Generally the barometer is likely to fall very low in the south for a westerly storm area is due to pass in the south about Saturday night or Sunday morning.
