OPENING OF THE' IMPERIAL TRADE COMMISSION. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT] LONDON, Oct. 10. Messrs Campbell and Sinclair were present at the opening of the Imperial Trade Commission. Mr Butler (chairman) in connection with emigrants’ information ed that the Australian and New Zealand Governments should supply a monthly cable showing what classes of labor are required and are not required. The present statements were based on market reports. SOME INTERESTING SUGGESTIONS. “MUCH MISREPRESENTATION AND DECEPTION.” (Received October 11. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 11. _ Before the Imperial Commission Sir J. B. Taverner gave details as to’the Victorian policy and system of selection of emigrants. He favored the Creation of an immigration department under a Secretary for the Colonies. Mr T. E. Donne, on behalf of New Zealand, advocated licensing emigration agents and societies. He said that at present there was much misrepresentation and deception.
