SALE AT TE HAPARA. An important sale will be conducted by Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., at Mr. W. Gordon’s, Te Hapara, at 11.30 a.m. tomorrow morning, when they will offer for absolute sale the whole of Mr Gordon’s large carrying and contracting plant. As the owner is leaving the district, everything must go under the hammer. Among the large catalogue to be offered are fifteen heavy and light draught horses, with full set; of harness and covers. A number of tip-drays, cart, gig, plough, scoops, and agricultural implements also figures on the list to be offered. Full particulars of the sale appear in this msrning’s issue. Danish sold at 131 s, Siberian 112 s. Australian 115 s, New Zealand (nominal! 1245. The cheese market is quiet, with small business doing. Canadian, white 64s 6d, colored 65s fid. The hemp market is firm at an advance and is excited. There is a good demand for all descriptions. On spot, New Zealand, good to fair grade £3l, fair grade £3O, fair current Manila £29 10s: JanuaryMarch, New Zealand, good to fair £3l 10s, fair grade £3O 10s, fair current Manila week was 25,000 bales. The stock of New Zealand hemp is 610 tons. The wheat market is quiet. New Zealand long-jer-ried wheat, ex granary, per matter of 5961b's, 30s fid; short-berried, 395. The oat market is dull, with very little business doing. New Zealand sparrow-bills, ex granary, per quarter of 3841 b«, 26s 6d. The linseed market is dull and unsettled, Bombay 60s 9d, River Plate o6s. The cocksfoot seed market is very dull.

ADVANCE IN RABBIT SKINS.

[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM} DUNEDIN, Oct. 14. A sudden rise of Is to Is 4d per lb. was experienced at the rabbit skin sales to-day. Prime superdoes realised 5s 61 per lb, which is claimed to be a record for th« Dominion. ' The high price is attributed to the shortage of opposums and musquash skins on the Home market, leading to a demand for the finest rabbit skim for the manufacture of imitations.
