JEWELLED SHOES.

DIAMOND BUCKLES IN FASHION

Jewellery is now being introduced on foot-gear. This expensive fashion originated in Vienna, but is gaining ground rapidly in London. Handsome buckles and brooches, such as might adorn a frock or a smart hat, now add the finishing touch to a walking shoe' or dancing slipper. A press representative inspected s. me of these new footgear ornaments at a leading London shop, and was informed that the most expensive buckles are being applied to plain leather or cloth and satin shoes. “Some of the buckles are extremely large, and would easily be taken for tile clasp of a waistband. On a smart, well-cut pair of shoes they look extremely effective. They replace the old-fashioned ribbon bow or rosette, and, unlike these, they are detachable, and may bo transferred to another pair of shoes.

Pretty diamond bows are another novelty, and when this fashion will have had its day the' owner will not scruple to remove the brooch from her foot and pin it at her threat.

Enamel shoe ornaments to match the color of an evening toilette are also greatly in vogue.
