OUR READERS’ OPINIONS.

THE WAIPAOA RIVER

(TO THE EDITOR.)

Sir,—Will you kindly allow me permission to correct on omission in your report upon what I said in regard to cutting off the bends in the Waipaoa River, t said that cutting off the bends would relieve Makauri and Patutahi; but it would swamp Te Arai, the Crawa and the Willows settlements, through giving the river a straight run. -I am, etc., LAURENCE DUNNE. Matawhero, Oct. 14.
