The prizes given for the different events will he of better 'value than those previously given. Tlie business people have given very generously, and the trades unions have also responded liberally. By advertisement in to-day’s paper the Council states that refreshments will be obtainable at- town prices, and that hot water and milk will be provided free. The dhildr-en are being provided for in a very generous manner, a splendid collection of toys and lollies, etc., being got for their amusement. Given fine weather this year’s Labor Day sports and picnic should he ev.en more successful than previous- efforts.
