DISAPPEARANCE OF WELL-KNOWN SPORT.
ANXIETY AT PAHIATUA

Some anxiety has been caused in Pali iat u a during the past week through the mysterious disappearance of Mr E. Marriott, a well-known local hairdresser.
Mr Marriott left his home in Wakeman Street on Sunday evening and has not been heard of since, though inquiries have been instituted. Mr Marriott, who is a well-known “sport,” is the secretary of the Bush Boxing Association and also a member of the committee of honorary territorials.
An overcoat and cap found on the bank of the river at Mangatuinoka Ty an angler last week have been handed over to the police. The clothing :s believed to have belonged to Marriott The care of Mr Marriott’s wife and family has been taken in hand by several local residents, who subscribed money on the family behalf.
