Visitors to the British * Museum in 1911 word 16,266 fewer than in the previous year. The falling off was greatest during the intense heat of July'and August. Records crops are predicted in Ame~ I’jca by Mr. Wilson, Secretary of Agriculture, who also anticipates a big busiess boom, with a consequent reduction in the cost of living. Mr 11. J. Horton, a tenant farmer, has purchased from the Ear! of St. Germans the village of Eisey (Wilts), and about 700 acres of land. A church is included in the property. Senor William Billinghurst, the new President of Peru, is the son of an English merchant.
