FASHION NOTES.

Mam- of the latest skirts are slightly gathered at the waist, and the division line between bodice and skirt is bidden by a cord or a narrow rucking.

"White or cream serge frocks are always suitable for spring wear, before the heat of summer comes in, and also for wear in the fine autumn days before the wet season sets in, so that they, are most useful and economical garments. Nome very pretty Maglar blouses are on exhibition, made of linen, and embroidered bv hand in colored washing silks. -‘They look particiilarly sniart worn with plain tight skirts. Embroidered tulle will be much worn in the summer, and little coats of colored taffeta will look very smart over the tulle. Some of these, coats have short tunics, gathered slightly into a high waist-line. Chiffon and jace are used for many of these coatees. Narrow patent leather belts, less than an inch wide, form a new and smart adjunct to many of the summer frocks.

Charming double fichus -edged with niching, and attached to the back of a floating panel, also ruched, give a soft and pretty finish to a summer dress of light avid thin material. Hats are still trimmed mostly on the crown, and, in many cases, tho flower-covered crown is veiled with chiffon or tulle.
