KAISER AND HIS GOVERNESS.
PLEASES OLD LADY DURING SWISS TOUR BY RECALLING BOYISH PRANKS.
How the Kaiser during his recent visit to Switzerland devoted half an hour to chatting with an old lady who was'once a governess at the Prussian Court is related by the Paris “Temps.” The lady, AUIe. Bujavd, lives at Geneva. When she heal’d that the German Emperor, whom she _ had know nas a bov, was visiting Switzerland she asked to lie allowed to see him. The request was put before the Emperor, but nothing was said about it. and it seemed to have miscarried, when, as he was travelling from Basle to Zurich, his Majesty turned to Colonel Ceresole, and said: “It seems that Mile. Buiard lives in your country. I remember her Very well. Tell her to come to the Legation at four o’clock on Friday, and I shall be charmed to see her again.” This precision in making such an appointment when a crowd of other cares was occupying his mind struck the imagination of all. The Kaiser talked oyer half-an-hour with the old ladv, reviving memories of his sisters. Princess Sophia, now Princess Royal of Greece, and Princess Margaret, now Princess of Hesse. He recalled a number of juvenile pranks in the castle at Potsdam, when lie Himself pulled the legs of his governess hinder the table, or made such extraordinary faces as brought the tears into his eyes with laughing.
Ho revived memories of the clay when Princess Constantine and lie hoisted the imfcjmny Princess Sophia on to the top of a cupboard, where she uttered piercing erics until rescued by the governess.
