AN INHUMAN FATHER.

SHOCKING NAPIER. CASE

(BY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT] NAPIER, Oct. 29.

Exceptional cruelty was proved by a woman in Court to-day when applying for a separation order. The evidence revealed a shocking state of affairs, the husband beating a child with a motor-bike belt until the blood ran to the floor. He also kicked and punched his wife, and on two occasions the woman was locked out over night in the rain and spent her time under the shelter of a friendlytree.

After hearing the evidence, against him the husband, William Malcolm, who is the father of six children and has been married nine years, agreed to a separation order. The Magistrate referred to the defendant as inhuman, and not fit to live in the society of decent people.
