ROWING.
POVERTY BAY CLUB. FINAL OF TRIAL FOURS. The final of the Trial Fours was got off last evening between C. Clark’s crew and O. Hansen's. Both boats got away well at the start, Clark’s crew having the lead by a length at the second bridge. Hansen’s men now' came in good style and overtook Clark and rowed level for some distance. Gradually pulling ahead they won by a length after a splendid race, both crews rowing in excellent style. The winning crew was as follows: O. Hansen (stroke), C. Hall, E. Boreham and L. Ensor (Kirk, cox.). SECOND TRIAL FOURS. ' Crews for the Second Trial Fours were picked last evening as follow: C. Clark (stroke), Stitchbury, Olsen, Webster; G. Douglas (stroke), E. Boreham, Corbett, Shield; Douglas, Gardner, Ensor, S. Davies; W. Hall, C. Hall, Etherbridge, Spiers; O. Hansen, Lowe, Gore, E. Hansen; J. Lloyd, Patty, Davill, Wright; Moore, Griffin, Smale, Menzies; Nicolas, Winter, Parker, Morell; E. O’Neill, Morrison, C. Davies. Paul; J. Prickett, Riddell, Gardner and J. Clark; Somervell, O’Neill, Godfrey, Burnett; Webb, Griffin, Downie, Goldsmith. The race is to be got off in about three weeks’ time on the Waimata River.
