TTMARU AYOOL SALES. [PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM] TIMAEU, Nov. 20. The first wool sale of the season was held here to-day. The offerings totalled just on 1000 bales, of which 924 were sold under the hammer. The general condition of the wool was the best seen for years. American operators were the keenest bidders, and then came the Dominion woollen mills. Bradford buyers' limits appeared to be below those of the Dominion and American buyers. As compared with 1911, wool is ltd to 13d better value. On account of greater soundness, longer staple, and lightness in grease the actual difference in prices works out at about 2d per lb all round in favor of this season. Quotations: Medium to good merino B]d to 103 d. super half-bred 12d to 31r ; d, medium lOd to lUd, super three-quarter bred lOjd to 13d. medium to good 93d to 113 d, super crossbred lOd to 12id. There is a particularly strong- demand for medium to good, though competition is very general. Groasics sold to II;Id, scoured 2:i\d. MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. At the. wool sales the competition for ah sections was extremely keen, and the improved values were well maintained.
