STRIKE DECLARED OFF. THE UNION'S MAIN CONCERN. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT] (Received Nov. 22. 7.30 p.m.) SYDNEY. Nov. 22. Tlie mutton slaughtermen’s strike is off, a number of the strikers are working, but not for the Carcase Butchers’ Association, whose members insisted on the men killing and dressing nine sheep hourly. The position threatened by the gas strike .is unaltered.
The ballot papers are looked in a secret place. The Gas Employees’ Council met, but refused to divulge w hat occurred at the meeting. Referring to the Gas Bill, about which tlie Assembly and the Legislative Council do not agree, the secretary declares that the Union is now not interested in the Hill's fate. He added: “All our trouble is liow to get an extra shilling daily.”
