MANGATU SPORTS

The annual sports in connection with the Mangatu Sports Club will be held on the Polo grounds at Whatatutu on Boxing Day, and a really first-class programme has been arranged, this year the prize money for hunters’ and lumping events has been raised to £25, and gome good horses arc sure to compete, A chopping match, in which all the best axemen in the district will take part, will form another attractive item, while the wrestling competition should be most interesting. In addition . there will be foot races, including a Sheffield Handicap. Entries for the Sheffield Handicap, Chop and Sawing close on Saturday next at 8 p.m., and for the other event, on the ground.
