Byles (Liberal) in view of Lord Roberts’ speeches, asked for particulars regarding compulsory military service in Australia, also whether only 40 per cent, of the hoys of 14 years of age obeyed the enrolment. Colonel -Seely (Minister for War) replied, that he had placed the Commonwealth Parliamentary paper dealing with the subject in tlie library, and be was net aware of .any general resistance to the compulsory clauses.
