CHILDERS ROAD RESERVE.
ITS UTILISATION BY SPOETS BODIES.
THE RECENT CONFERENCE
In connection with the recent- conference between the Borough Reserves Committee and sports bodies concerning the Childers Road Reserve, a report embodying the terms agreed upon was presented to the Council last evening. It was decided that the Cycling Club should use the ground on the 19th December ; also, that in the event of the Council, desiring The ground at any time for a special demonstration that they are to have the right against all other associations. That the delegates lay proposals before their respective societies, and report back to the Committee whether they are satisfactory or otherwise. The Council to 'take'the following percentages from gross takings of all gates :_Gates up to £lO, 10 p.c.; up -to £25,-15 p.c.; up to £SO, 25 p.c. ; above £SO, 33J p.c. In the event of pooling the gates ladies are not- to participate, as they are on the free list. In addition to above, clubs to pay as under: Athletic club, 5s per member per season, as training fee; Cycling club, 5s per member training fee (dual tickets, cycling and athletic, 7s 6d); Association football, 10s per ground per day (probably Saturdays only); Rugby football, 10s per ground per day ; hockey clubs, 10s per day per ground', ladies free (J’liursdavs and Saturdays); cricket clubs, two pitches, 10s per pitch per day (Thursdays and Saturdays). All holidays also to be charged ior if the grounds are used. The Mayor said that the arrangements were not made for all time, and they could be altered as occasion warranted. The report was adopted.
