Mrs Jolm Murphy was favored with a beautiful sunny day for her “at home” on Thursday, given in honor of Miss Mamie Williamson’s forthcom- £ 'ing marriage. The beautiful grounds h at Repongaere wore looking their best, and every one appreciated the delightful tea, cakes and strawberr ries which were served on the lawn. A pleasant competition which kept the guests busy consisted of making Q rhymes concerning the guest of honor. Mrs Henderson proved the winner, and was the recipient of a beautiful silver photo frame. . ) The hostess received in a beautiful shell pink ninon frock relieved with touches of black, and a black picture hat with a white ostrich feather ‘ mount. Miss Mamie Williamson, the guest of the afternoon, wore a very smart : champagne-co’ored toilette, with trim--1 mings of a deeper shade, and a becom- : ing biscuit-colored hat- with a choco- ’ late brown feather mount. Mrs Bennett wore a heliotrope voile robe witli purple velvet trimmings, » and a. pretty toque. Mrs Parker, a grey and black coat and skirt, and a white toque relieved ■ with black velvet. Mrs J. Williams, a fawn costume I and a large black satin hat with dull green aluminium trimmings. Mrs Porter, a cinnamon-brown toi- ! lette and a white hat with trimmings j of pink roses. Mrs F. B. Barker/ a smart green i silk costume and a white leghorn hat, with a mount of white-flowers and pink roses. Mrs McLean, a black and white coat and skirt, and a biscuit-colored toque with navy trimmings. Miss B. Bradley, a tussore frock with touches of pale blue, and a hat trimmed with blue floral ribbon. Miss M. Rees, white spotted muslin much embroidered, and- a cream hat ; with trimmings of forget-me-nots. ] Miss Effie Williamson, a charming ! heliotrope toilette, and a creme h'f.t' ■ with a black osprey mount. j Miss Willis, white linen coat and skirt, and a black hat trimmed with poppies. Mrs Gully, a blue grey voi’e robe and a pretty nattier blue hat. 1 Miss X.
