The Union 8. S. Co’s Tarawera arrived from tiie south on Saturday and later proceeded to Auckland, arriving there at 2 p.m. yesterday. The Union S. S. Co’s Taitapuna returned from Napier yesterday morning and leaves again this evening at 9 o'clock. The Union a. a. Co's Monowai, which left Auckland at 3.45 p.m. on Saturday, called at Tokomaru Bay and arrived here at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. She left for the South at 8 p.m. The Union S. S. Co’s Kittawa arrived from the soutli yesterday with 300,000 feet of timber, and she berthed at the Kaiti wharf. She will leave for Auckland either to-morrow or Wednesday. The Kittawa is 1247 tons, antj is the largest vessel yet to enter the river. The Union S. S. Co's Rosamond left Auckland at about 3 p.m. on Saturday, and calls at Tologa Bay on her way to Gisborne, which port she is expected to reach to-day. She then loads sheep for Whangarei. and will probably leave for that port to-night. The Union S. S. Co's Mokoia is due from the South on Wednesday. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co’s lonic completed her loading on Saturday and sailed for Napier. Messrs Richardson and Co’s Ripple arrived from the South on Saturday afternoon and left for Wellington early yesterday morning. The Monowai, which leaves Wellington on Christmas Day. will not call at Napier, but will proceed direct to Gisborne, sailing from there to Auckland on Boxing Day. The ferry steamer Takapuna will be available for passengers from Napier to Gisborne on that evening. The s.s. John is expected from Southern ports, via Napier, on Tuesday next, arid returns to Tirnaru, via Wellington. Messrs Dalgety and Company are agents.
