/ NOTES. f The Westport Coal Co.’s Kcgulus arrived from Westport at 9.30 yesterday morning, but owing to the heavy sea running she could not come up to the wharf. Site took shelter under Young Nick's Head till the afternoon, when she made a couple of attempts to enter the channel, but without success. She returned to Young Nick's Head and will stay there till the weather moderates. The s.s. Rosamond, which left Auckland on Saturday afternoon arrived at Tologa Bay yesterday morning, and left later for Gisborne. Owing to high seas running she had to return to Tologa Bay, but is expected to arrive here to-day. On completion of discharge she returns North’ to Whangarei with a number of sheep. The a.s. Kaco is expected to clear Auckland in a few days for Waipiro Bay, where she loads wool and returns to Auckland.
The Tyser Co.’s s.s. Muritai is expected to arrive here from Wellington on Friday. The s.s. Ruru is due here this morning from Wellington and Napier. The s.s. Squall, which is working the , Coast, is expected to arrive here at the end of the week. The Home steamer Zealandic took the following shipments from Gisborne: —Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Meat Co., 6244 carcases mutton, 6199 do. lamb, 33 cases kidneys, 85 do. tallow; Murray Roberts and Co., 383 bales wool, 55 casks tallow; Dalgety and Co., 1 606 bales wool; Common, Shelton and Co., 625 bales wool. The ferry stainer Takapuna is due to' leave Napier to-night late, for Gisbrone, and will arrive to-morrow morning. Messrs Huddart, Parker.and Co.’s Victoria arrives from North to-morrow afternoon and sails for South later in the evening. The Union S.S. Co.’s Monowai arrives direct from Wellington on Thursday morning. She proceeds on her journey north the same day. The Orete is due to leave Gisborne for Coast ports and Auckland on Saturday morning.
