MAN ARRESTED FOR PERJURY IN SYDNEY.

[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM) AUCKLAND, Dec. 30. At the instance of the New Zealand police Walter Edmund Harvey has been arrested at Sydney on a charge of perjury.

It is alleged that on December 14 at Waihi Harvey did falsely swear he had no revolver in his possession and did not point- a revolver at William Hunt at Ivarangahake on November 10.

Harvey left by the Wimmera last week and was detained on arrival at Sydney.

Detective Sweeney left for Sydney to-night to apply for extradition and escort him hack.
