PERSONAL NOTES.
Mr H. D. de Lautour came back by the Takapuna yesterday. Mr. iJulius Ciesar returned to Gisborne from the South on Saturday. Mr. H. E. Bright returned from Auckland by the Mokoia yesterday. Mr. J. W Telford returned to Gisborne on Saturday, and proceeded home the same day. Mr. H. B. Williams was a passenger to Gisborne by the Victoria on Saturday. Mr. A. J. Paterson, Borough Engineer, arrived back from Wellington yesterday, after spending a few days in -. the South. Mr. J. H. Stevens, who acted as chief postmaster at Napier for some time, and now intends retiring from the service, intends joining the wellknown firm of Abraham and W llliams as financial expert. A Delhi P.A. cable states that Lord Hardinge’s condition yesterday was improved, there being no fever, but he is very deaf, and the constant aching , of the wounds prevents sound rest.
