The scow Alert will leave for Ngunguru to-day. The Union Co’s steamer Mokoia left Auckland at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday, called at Tokomaru and arrived at Gisborne at 2 p.m., leaving at 9 p.m. for South. She brought a large number of passengers returning from the holidays. The ferry steamer Takapuna arrived from Napier at 5 a.m. yesterday, and leaves to-night at 7.30 p.m. for the,South. She returns on Wednesdays morning. The. s.s. Rosamond left Auckland at 1 o’clock on Saturday afternoon for Tologa Bay and Gisborne, and is due this morn- i ing, returning to Auckland on completion of her discharge. The steamer Kowhai leaves Dunedin on Tuesday or Wednesday for Gisborne via tho usual ports. From Gisborne, she proceeds hence to Greymouth. Captain J. J.
