SHORTAGE OF HORSES.

NOT ENOUGH FOR BRITISH ARMY REQUIREMENTS. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT] (Received Jan. 20. 11.35 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 20. The “Daily Mail” says there is an alarming deficiency in Army horses, due to a conflict between the War Office and .the Board of Agriculture. The latter is spending £50,000 annually regardless of the War Office’s requirements. The money is chiefly expended in premiums and though the French and German Offices employed certainly buy the host bred horses, there are now 100,000 fewer horses than in 1011. The proportion of cavalry horses is lower than ever.
