vessels in port. Orete, au.x. schooner. NOTES. The Takapuna left last night for Napier will return on Sunday morning. f The Ripple arrived yesterday morning and left in the evening for Wellington. The auxiliary schooner Orete arrived in the bay about 3 o’clock yesterday and came up the channel under her own power. She brings' wool from Tolago for the Makarini. The Kowhai’s sister ship the Karamu is expected from Greymouth and Westport next week with coal. The following have booked passages for Auckland by the T a raw or a to-day: Misses Lyttelton and Proctor, Bishop Cleary, Bather Tigar, Messrs Evans, Bacon, Eobb, and Gallop. The last launch will leave at 10 o’clock this morning for the vessel, which will soon after continue her trip north. The Monowai leaves Auckland this afternoon for Gisborne via Tokomaru and is expected early to-morrow afternoon. The Tyser liner Makarini-arrives for Home loading to-morrotv night. . The U.S.S. Co.’s collier Whangape is to load coal at Newcastle for Tokomaru, Gisborne, and Napier very shortly. The ICaeo is expected from the coast in a few days’ time. The Squall is expected on Monday and the Bosamond to-morrow. The Canterbury steamer Petone loads at Dunedin on the 18th for Gisborne via Southern ports.
