GISBORNE’S GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS. Tlie possibility of Government buildings being erected in Gisborne is nearing actuality, and the matter was advanced a stage further yesterday, when, at the meeting of the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce, a letter was received from Mr J. R. Kirk, in the course of which he said i—“I am very strongly of opinion that Mr Herries should be approached regarding the commencement of tlie "Government buildings in Gisborne. It may be said that the matter is not in his Department; hut the Cabinet will have to deal with the matter, and as he is a member of Cabinet, he should certainly know the nosition. It is an acute one here and the endeavor should be made to have the building started immediately.” It was stated that the matter would he brought before the attention of Mr Herries in the course of his visit to Gisborne.
