OFFICIALLY CONFJRMED. AGREEMENT? MUTUALLY CANCELLED. MR MILLAR’S POSITION. It was announced on February 12th that Mr J. D. Williams had. resigned from the Greater J. D. Williams Cb., Ltd. That announcement was officially confirmed on February 15 in Sydney', when Mr W. B. Miller (general manager of the co m 2>any) made a statement on behalf of the directors. “The announcement last Wednesday,” he said, “was correct. Mr J. D. Williams has,resigned his position. The Equity proceedings have been dismissed, and all his agreements with the company have been cancelled, as well as all the company’s agreements with'him. The Equity proceedings had reference to an application on behalf of Mr Williams with regard to iiis position as managing director of the company. “Mr Williams,” added Mr Miller, “will from now have absolutely nothing to do with the company, save as a shareholder. MR MILLER’S POSITION. “In addition to the position of general manager I will take up the managership of the whole of the affairs of the company. I shall aiso take up the whole of the duties formerly carried out by Mr Williams. 1 n fact, I. will take his position. During the last fortnight I have been reorganising the staffs of the Greater J. D. Williams companies throughout Australia, and I am now quite ready to carry out the alterations I have decided upon. Several important alterations in the policy of the company will also be carried out. “I am making arrangements in New York and London for a supply of special feature films for the whole of our theatres, and of such a nature as I feel sure will appeal to our patrons. VOLUNTARY RESIGNATION. “Mr Williams has, of his own accord, severed his connection with the company. He has voluntarily resigned. Ho did hold 5000 shares, but I am not sure how many he now holds. Being a shareholder, of course he will be eligible to attend a general meeting of shareholders; but his functions have ceased insofar as the attending at a board meeting is concerned. MR WILLIAMS’ INTENTIONS. “I cannot say what Mr Williams’ future intentions are, except that I;,e is not to be connected with a business in opposition to that of the company for a stipulated period. Ido not care to say for how long. The company for the present will be known as ‘the Greater J. I). Williams Co., Ltd., That is its registered title. “It is quite true that Mr Williams was on a big salary, but whether 1 will receive a like amount I am not at all prepared to discuss. My object is to make the company a distinct success financially and as an entertaining agency. The present policy of the eonipanv will be absolutely remodelled. ‘ “I intend to put my heart and soul into the concern, and if it is not a great success, then I feel certain it will not be for the want of earnest trying. NO ILL-FEELING. “My association with Mr Williams has been of an amicable nature, and now that lie has resigned from the company I am sure the directors bear him no animus.”
