“OUR MISS GIBBS.” Referring to the production of “Our Miss Gibbs”* by the company which is to interpret this world-famed comic opera at the Opera House on Monday evening, a contemporary says: “The theatre, spacious as it is, proved utterly inadequate to accommodate ail who turned up last evening to witness the production of the popular comic opera company under the direction of Mr D. B. O’Connor. Seldom, indeed, has such a rush and crush been seen at the theatre, and scores of people had to be reluctantly refused admission. The audience, besides being a record one, was enthusiastic to a degree, and the management may lie congratulated on tJie success achieved.” Amongst the principals who are said to contribute to the success of the opera and will appear here are Messrs D. B. O’Connor. John Ralston, J. H. Mitchell, Geo. Edwards, and Misses Eva Moore, Ida Leggatt, Cliff Palmer, Bertha Hunter and Annie Maitland. “Our Miss Gibbs” is to be presented on Monday only, as during the other three nights of the season the Company is to produce “The Merrv Widow,” “Belle of New York,” and “Catch of the Season.” The box plan is at Lucas’ tobacconist.
