NO ALIMONY TO SUFFRAGETTES.

WIFE SMOKED 10 CIGARS-A DAY AND WAS THE MAN OF THE HOUSE. Because he told the Philadelphia Court that- his wife is a suffragist and smokes as many as ten cigars a day, Frank L. Forney won’t have to pay for her support. Mrs Forney had asked for alimony ponding the result of a divorce suit begun by her husband. Forney asserted that her love for him had disappeared when she joined the “votes for women” movement, that her club ideas had developed until she was ready the man of the house, that she smoked as much as she pleased, and that his comfort had become a secondary consideration. He also alleged that she had made their daughter an ardent suffragist and the girl had taken the side of the mother.

As no defence to these charges was submitted to the Court, it was ordered that Forney might cease paying for the support of his wife and daughter, and the request for alimony was denied.
