BRITISH GOVERNMENT’S OFFER [INDEPENDENT PRESS CABLE] LONDON, Feb. 28. Great Britain has" offered Persia £IOO,OOO for the maintenance of her gendarmerie in Fars, the province that borders the Persian Gulf on the north-east side, and contains the important port of Bushire. The offer is made conditionally upon Persia recognising special British interests in the Gulf. The Government off Teheran is becoming uneasy. There is every reason to believe that a reactionary coup is being plotted.
