SYDNEY GAS STRIKE.
A SATISFACTORY" DEVELOPAIENT [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGH’f] (Received Alarch 11, 9.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 11. A development which may obviate the necessity of a special session of Parliament to deal with the gas position has occurred. The companies have to the Premier stating that the resumed, the companies do not object to cancelling that part of the agreement relating to wages, so the men may -come before the Wages Board without further delay and have the matter settled by tlie Court or the Wages Board.
The Secretary of the Gasmen’s, Union, to whom. the companies decision was submitted for consideration, states that the arrangements will suit the Union, which is in favor oS acting to expedite matters.
