EAST COAST y. POVERTY BAY. TUG-O’-WAR TO COMMENCE TO-DAY. Exceptional interest attaches to the xepresentative match between the East Coast and Poverty Bay elevens, which commences at 10.30 o’clock this morning at Victoria Domain. Never before has the full strength of the Coast and Gisborne opposed each other, as will be the' case in this match, and "everyone is anxious to see .what the outcome will be. The Poverty Bay team has undergone alteration from that originally selected by Mr Olsen. J. Moore and ,S. McConnell have’ dropped out, and their places will be taken by H 7 E. Maude and M. Guthrie. It is doubtful whether A. M. Beale, of Waipiro, will now arrive to take part in the game, as word has been received that he is not in the best of health. . The teams will be as follow: East Coast.—E. T. Wilder (captain), E. R. Ludbrook, W. Philsmi, G. Oates, W. Oates, J. Oates, S. Mill, E. R. Deacon, A. Coombe, W. Oakden, and A. M. Beale (or F. M. Davis). Poverty Bay: H. W. Ellis, J. A. Gibson, AY. A.' J. Gibson, M. Guthrie, R. G. Hallamore, J. H. Jones, H. E. Maude, L. McMahon, J. H. Miller, W- J- Scholium and A. Young. It is expected that the attendance will be one of the largest seen at a match for many seasons past. Mr K. S. Williams', the organiser of the East Coast team, has generously decided to provide afternoon tea.
