EAST COAST v. AYHATAUPOKO. AN ENJOYABLE AFTERNOON’S PLAY. An enjoyable match was played on the AYhataupoko courts yesterday afternoon, when a friendly match was played between a team from the visiting East Coast cricketers and a sextette from the AYhataupoko Club. The match was for the best of three sets, no vantage games. The courts were on the dead side after the ra'in, but nevertheless a highly-enjoy able afternoon’s play resulted. The following are the results: — R. AVillock and N. Bull (Whataupoko) beat E. R. Ludbrook and W. Pliilson, 6—3, 6—2. S. Palmer and J. Barns-Graham (Coast) beat LI. Etherington and E. G. Matthews, 6—4, 5—6, 6—3.- - A. J. Henderson and E. H. Mann (Whataupoko) beat E. T. Wilder and K. S. Williams, 6—3, 6—3. E. R. Deacon and AY. Oakden (Coast) beat G. AA’illock and H. Fulton, 6—l, 4—6, 6—3. AYhataupoko thus won by 6 sets to 4, or 47 games to 44. Mesdames Alann and Alatthews and Miss AVilliams kindly provided afternoon tea, which was very much appreciated.
